More Telecom is one the leading providers of internet and communication services in Australia, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. The brand refresh aimed to modernize its visual identity while preserving the core values of trust, reliability, and innovation.
The project involved a complete redesign of the logo, color palette, typography, and key brand assets to align with More Telecom’s vision of staying ahead in a competitive market.
Overview
The primary objective of this project was to modernize the visual identity of More Telecom and bring it to life through an updated customer portal. The refresh aimed to improve brand recognition, align the portal with the new brand system, and enhance usability for customers.
A key focus was to create a consistent visual language across the portal while addressing functional improvements to ensure a better user experience.
Challenge
One of the main challenges was adapting the new design system to fit within the limitations of the existing portal infrastructure. The system’s original design elements had to be reinterpreted to align with the portal’s framework while maintaining consistency with the brand’s visual language.
Ensuring the customer portal remained user-friendly while integrating the refreshed branding was another challenge. Functionality and clarity were prioritized, which required balancing visual updates with maintaining intuitive navigation and usability.
Additionally, aligning the technical feasibility of the updates with the development timeline demanded close coordination with the tech team, requiring adjustments to accommodate system constraints without compromising design integrity.
Process
The process began with analyzing the existing customer portal to identify areas where the new design system could be applied effectively. This involved auditing the portal’s layout, navigation, and UI components to understand the overall structure and functionality. With the brand system already established, the challenge was to tailor these assets for the digital platform while maintaining visual and functional coherence.
Next, I created wireframes and high-fidelity mockups of the revamped portal, showcasing how the updated logo, typography, and color palette could be integrated seamlessly. Particular attention was paid to key touchpoints, such as the dashboard, navigation menus, and action buttons, to ensure a user-friendly and visually engaging experience.
Collaboration played a significant role in the implementation phase. I worked closely with the development team, providing detailed specifications and assets to ensure the designs were implemented as intended. Regular design reviews and testing sessions were conducted to address any issues and refine the experience. Accessibility was a priority throughout, ensuring the portal met WCAG standards for contrast and usability.
